Anxiety and Panic
Feeling on edge for most the day, every day? Having experiences that you or others refer to as “panic attacks” or “anxiety attacks”? Feeling a sense of dread or planning out worst-case scenarios? Do you experience physical symptoms like shaking, hyperventilating, sweating, nausea, or dizziness?
If these things sound familiar, you may have an anxiety disorder. Some people live for a long period of time with these symptoms and may not even know they have anxiety. For others, it may be difficult to know what to do or where to seek help. Some people worry that their anxiety could never get better.
All of these concerns are a targeted part of my work with my clients who have anxiety or panic. We explore biopsychosocial aspects of anxiety and develop individualized treatment plans using evidenced-based therapies to target symptom reduction. I enjoy using a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, which can include some exposure therapy, as well as dialectical behavior therapy which utilizes mindfulness and distress tolerance skills.
